"Catholic Schools: Ignited, Renewed, and Energized"
The theme of our recent Archdiocesan Synod, “This will be for us a new Pentecost,” inspired our recent challenge to all principals in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee for 2014 – 2015.
As a follow-up to Archbishop Listecki’s Synodal Declaration of September 14, I gratefully share that vision for our schools with our entire Catholic educational community here.
In the spirit of the Synod,
A “new Pentecost” will occur daily in every school, as diverse languages, backgrounds, values, and abilities are understood, accepted, and integrated into the school’s learning culture.
Every principal, teacher, and staff member in every school of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee will share leadership in building the school’s culture and be “on fire” to ensure students’ success.
Every Catholic school in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee will be a “home of light and joy” in the darkness of our world.
Each of us will be a “leader of light” grounded in faith, energized by hope, and consumed by love for our school communities and for the God who has called us to serve.
As we begin this new month and new season, we pray for the grace to be ignited, renewed, and energized by the Spirit of God.
Kathleen A. Cepelka, Ph.D. Superintendent of Catholic Schools
