Registration Procedures

FOR SCHOOLS:

  • Read program information and determine participation

Identify students in 7th and 8th grade that meet the following criteria:

  • Standardized test scores (Iowa Assessments, WI Forward Exam, MAPS/STAR)
  • Consistent score of 3 or 4 in content standards in core academic areas.
  • Teacher recommendation rating of at least a 3 average on the referral form.  Note: This referral may be a composite referral from your school’s middle school faculty team.
  • Provide the link for program information to eligible students and their parents.
  • Submit application information online for each applicant by October 13 to the Office for Schools:
    • The principal will submit application information for students here. Have the student’s standardized test results (Iowa Assessments, WI Forward Exam, MAPS/STAR scores) and report card from the prior school year ready to upload.
    • Teacher will submit application information and recommendation for students here.
    • Parents will submit application information for their child here.
  • Courses and locations are filled on a first-come, first-served basis for eligible students. Late or incomplete registrations will not be accepted.

Schools and parents will be notified by October 23, 2023, regarding placement decisions in a Discovery Project Course for the second and third quarters.
